How fees are collected
Please read this before you open an account. The same rules are in the Terms.
Your fees
Steadi Pay takes 1% of each successful sale, as the platform. Your payment operator or licensed gateway charges its own fee, which differs from one operator to the next and is set in your agreement with them. You see the amounts in the portal. For mobile money and bank payments, either your customer pays them as one handling fee, or you cover them. For card payments, you cover the fees.
When we take our fee
Steadi Pay's fee is either paid by your customer at checkout, as part of one handling fee, or invoiced to you each month. We never take it out of a payout.
Optional invoice debit
You may authorise a debit from your own Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba or bank account to pay those invoices. That debit pays Steadi Pay invoices only. It has no claim on money in your collection account.
Outstanding fee limit
If we invoice a gateway, a new account can owe up to MWK 25,000 in unbilled fees plus unpaid invoices. After 2 invoices paid on time the limit is MWK 100,000. After 6 it is MWK 400,000. An active invoice debit doubles the limit. If every enabled provider takes the fee at collection, there is no cap.
Invoices and late charges
We invoice when unbilled fees reach MWK 5,000. Smaller amounts wait until the next month. If an invoice is unpaid, we first show a one-time MWK 5,000 charge plus 2.5 percent simple interest per month on the overdue amount. The late charge never exceeds 25 percent of that invoice. Those amounts appear as new lines on the next invoice.
If an invoice stays unpaid
At the end of the grace period, live keys and live checkout pause until you pay. Sandbox stays on. Paying the invoice restores live access.
Your money stays in your own account at a licensed provider. Our fee is paid by the customer at checkout or invoiced to you monthly.
